Blueberry Rabbiteye. This variety is a tall, vigorous upright grower. Large, light blue berries full of flavour ripen towards the end of summer. Pollinate with another Rabbiteye to ensure good crops. Plant in a sunny position in acid soil that does not dry out in summer. Deciduous.

It is important to remember that Blueberries fruit on the previous years wood and whilst they are self-fertile they will always do better with a companion.
Suitable for warmer areas including Auckland/Northland

The Black Currant produces a fruit that is high in Vitamin C with a tart sharp taste. 'Magnus' is disease resistant, a reliable producer and has an upright habit. The currants are ripe late Dec-Jan. Delicious and deciduous.

Black currants will grow in sun or semi-shade. They like deep acid soil that does not completely dry out in summer when the fruit are setting. They fruit on the new seasons wood which develops after pruning.

Red currants are a great source of vitamin C. They are easy to grow and form attractive shrubs in the home landscape. The fruit can be picked fresh (if you beat the birds) or used for jams, jellies, juices and pies. Freezes well. Ripe around December-January. Deciduous.

Prune the main shoots of your Red Currant back by about 1/2 in winter to encourage new fruiting laterals. Remember that Red Currants mainly fruit on older wood.
